A world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.
In the early 1980s, a parent support group, McDonald’s Owner/Operators and a small team of dedicated volunteers set out to build a Ronald McDonald House® in Milwaukee. Previously, families had no place to stay while their seriously ill or injured children were being treated at Children’s Wisconsin and other area hospitals. The outpouring of support to build our House was remarkable, so much so that when we opened in 1984, we called it “The House that Love Built®.”
Due to our generous community of support, what started out as a 25-room House now boasts 84 private guest rooms, nine kitchens and common spaces for families to gather and play. We offer families from all 50 states and many countries around the world these amenities at little to no cost. A team of over 425 volunteers and a dedicated staff are always ready to do whatever it takes to make a family’s stay a little easier.
