As our communities continue to navigate the effects of COVID-19, RMHC Eastern WI is following specific guidelines to maintain a safe environment within the House. Referrals for in-patient and out-patient admissions are done through social workers at partner hospitals, with the exception of families who have stayed at RMHC Eastern WI in the past two years – they are eligible to self-refer by calling the Manager on Duty at 414.935.6510.

Any families who are eligible to stay will no longer need to submit recent negative COVID results or proof of vaccination.

All guests (ages 2 and older) at RMHC Eastern WI are still required to wear a mask around the House. Families are allowed to remove their masks if they are: outdoors, seated at a table in a kitchen eating a meal, or in their own personal guest room. Masks are provided to all guests if they do not have one of their own to wear.

Anyone entering the House will be asked to answer a health screening. If any person has signs or symptoms of COVID, they will be asked for proof of a negative COVID test before being permitted inside the House, regardless of vaccination status.

Additional Guidelines:

  • Outside visitors are now allowed at RMHC Eastern WI, including visitors to guest families, House tours and non-essential meetings.
    • Visitor hours are 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    • All visitors 14 years and older must sign into the visitor software and be issued an adhesive badge. All badges will be adhered to the visitor’s outermost layer of clothing.
    • Families are responsible for communicating House policies and procedures – including mask requirement – to their visitors and ensuring that they abide by House rules including visiting hours.
    • Overnight guests must register in the Family Services office, and be in compliance with the fire code of 5 people (3 adults maximum) per room for short term rooms and 8 people (5 adults maximum) per room for long term rooms. Any overnight guest age 18 years and older must have their photo identification card scanned. If an overnight guest does not have a photo ID card present then the Manager-on-Duty will record their full name, date of birth and take their photo until the guest is able to provide photo ID (expected within first 24 hours of their stay.)
    • When visitors leave, they will need to sign out of the visitor software at the front desk and turn in their visitor badge to the Front Desk.
  • Guest families:
    • Occupancy is limited to the patient receiving care and their immediate family support system.
    • Sheltering in place is no longer required.
    • Rooms must be used at least once per day during a stay.

We continue to work closely with our hospital partners, Medical Advisory Committee, Board of Directors and Global Charity to ensure that appropriate measures are being taken for the well-being of our families, volunteers and staff.
