Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Ronald McDonald Family Room®?
Our Family Room is located inside the Ladish Co. Foundation Center on Rogers’ main campus in Oconomowoc. It is a welcoming, home-like space where parents and families visiting a loved one at Rogers Behavioral Health can relax, have a snack, play a game or rest while preparing for the emotional and mental demands of having a loved one in treatment.
While having family members nearby supporting a patient receiving treatment has proven to have a positive impact on their recovery, the Family Room is a non-clinical environment and, as such, does not allow medical consultation or treatment on the premises.
Who is eligible to use the Family Room?
The Family Room may be used by parents, grandparents, guardians, siblings or other support persons of current patients at Rogers Behavioral Health. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to visit or stay in the Family Room without a parent or guardian present.
Patients who receive a visitor pass from their treatment team may visit the Family Room accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information about patient visitor passes, families should speak with the patient’s therapist or unit manager.
Do families need to pay to use the Family Room?
No, the Family Room is completely funded by Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc. and Rogers Behavioral Health.
What if we need overnight accommodations?
The Ronald McDonald House® in Milwaukee provides accommodations for families who have a child receiving medical treatment at a local area hospital, primarily Children’s Wisconsin or Rogers Behavioral Health. The House has 70 guest rooms with private bathrooms and common living, play and kitchen spaces. Contact our Family Services Team at 414.475.5333 to learn more.
