March 17th, 2017
I had an awesome day on Wednesday! It started with a bath, which wasn’t so awesome, but then a car ride. Mom said that we were going to see some kids and that I have to be on my best behavior. She picked me up and put me in the car. I snuggled into my car seat. Away we went. It felt like we were going on our familiar ride to the Ronald McDonald House. But instead, we made a turn and were going up and up, as if we would meet the sky. We finally got out of the car and walked through a big parking lot to the elevators. Mom said “We’re here, McNugget!” We got to the office and I was hugged and loved on by Megan, the Volunteer Services Supervisor at Children’s Wisconsin. What a great place. I’m going to like it here!
We started our way to visit with the kids but along the way we met lots of people! So many people stopped us to say hello. I saw kids and grownups, babies and people wearing blue masks and gowns (I thought they looked a little funny)!
Mom had a list of names of kids to visit. She was so happy that we finally got to visit the kids of the families that we see at RMHC. One room we visited, we recognized a mom from the House and got to meet her sweet daughter. She was telling us that she has a dog at home and she missed her. So mom put me on her hospital bed and let her snuggle me…I loved that! I hope that she gets better soon.
We visited another RMHC family. He was a young boy, but he was tired and couldn’t open his eyes. We told him that we hoped that he will get better soon, and that we will be back to visit.
Our day went on a bit longer and then it was time to go. We got to the lobby and I saw some more little buddies. They helped me show off my tricks by giving me some yummy Cheerios. And then we were on our way home.
I got into my car seat and zonked out! I had a little rest and then mom says, McNugget, it’s time to go! Oh yeah, I remembered it was movie night at RMHC. We packed up and off we went. It was great seeing my closest buddies Marysue and Nathan! There were lots of my other friends there too. We watched the Secret Life of Pets! What a great movie and good popcorn too! I felt so glad to be back at RMHC. It’s like being home.
