We have teamed up with local eatery Pizza Man for the In Dough We Grow special! Now through September 30, purchase “The Pizza that Love Built,” and 100% of the proceeds benefit our House! What a delicious way to help keep families together. 😊 🍕 Read about how this pizza came to be from friend of the House, 12-year-old Miles Pearson:
“Going into the Pizza Man restaurant, I had an idea of a pizza made like a cheeseburger, because of the tie between the Ronald McDonald House® and McDonald’s®. I told my mom it would be cool to have a cheeseburger pizza. I sat at the table with Ms. Bridget, Ms. Megan, my Nana and my mom. The chef brought out the pizzas and I saw french fries on top of one of them! I thought right away “Oh my gosh, there is a cheeseburger pizza just like I wanted.”
Still, we made sure to try all of the pizzas. I tried the cheeseburger pizza first and I really liked the little pieces of burger and the fries, but most of all, I really liked the pickles. The chef told us they were homemade! The other pizzas were good too, but I kept wanting another piece of the cheeseburger pizza. I knew that had to be the pizza we picked for the fundraiser.
Once we all agreed the cheeseburger pizza was the winner, we started thinking of names for it. We thought about names that had meaning to the House. Then we thought about how the House is known as “The House That Love Built.” So, we thought this could be called “The Pizza That Love Built.”
I was so happy to be able to help choose the pizza for the fundraiser. I love RMHC® because it helps families and kids that don’t have a place to stay near the hospital, like my family had to when I was a baby and was very sick. I also like helping the House make more room for more families and kids to be able to stay there. When I can help the House by bringing toys, food and other things, it makes me feel happy because I know I’m helping other people.”
Thanks to Miles, Lindsey and Nana for helping kick off the In Dough We Grow fundraiser in such a special – and delicious – way! Remember, this pizza is available at all participating Pizza Man locations, now through September 30.
