Pop Tabs

Little things can mean a lot!

Since 2000, recycling little aluminum tabs on the tops of soda cans has generated over $375,000 for our Ronald McDonald House.

Revenue from recycling these little bits of aluminum helps us keep families together. Saving pop tabs is easy! They’re compact, with a high concentration of recyclable aluminum.

Thank you for Pulling Together for our Ronald McDonald House!

Congratulations to our community for collecting over 9 million pop tabs in 2019! Thanks to Winter Services for hosting and everyone who collected pop tabs and supported this annual event!

How to get started:

1. Place a collection container in a central location at home, work, or school. Pop tab collection houses are available for pick up at the Ronald McDonald House (we suggest a donation of 50 cents per small house and $3 per large house). You can also be creative with your containers by using an ice cream bucket, large pretzel bin, etc. Make your own container labels or print out our official Pop Tab collection labels.

2. When your collection container is full you have several options:

  • Plan to attend Tab Toss Day on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
  • Drop off your tabs at any Complete Recycling Services, Great Clips or First Federal Bank location in the Greater Milwaukee Area, the Appleton Police Department, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department or Schreiber Foods in Green Bay.
  • Drop your tabs off at the Ronald McDonald House on Watertown Plank Road in Wauwatosa, any day between 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Take the pop tabs to your local recycling center and have the check made out to Ronald McDonald House Charities and mail it to 8948 Watertown Plank Road, Milwaukee, WI 53226.

Girl Scout & Boy Scout Patch Program

Even the youngest daisy and cub scout troop members can make the world a better place. Please collect pop tabs and donate them to the Ronald McDonald House. It’s easy and clean, unlike empty cans, they don’t need to be rinsed.
