Pull Together for RMHC

Little Things Can Mean a Lot

June 2nd, 2023

Since 2000, recycling the little aluminum tabs from soda cans has generated nearly $400,000 for our Ronald McDonald House®. From bikers to Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts, friends from near and far collect pop tabs all year long, with the biggest impact being on our annual Tab Toss Day.

This year, in addition to collecting pop tabs, the fourth grade girls Germantown Basketball Club raised and donated $1,000 as a “Home Away From Home” sponsor for Tab Toss Day! The team held a free throw contest to end the season, with a $5 donation given for every free throw a player or parent made. Skills were put to the test, with everyone shooting 10 free throws each! The team celebrated the success of the contest with a pizza party (pictured below).

We are grateful to the Girls Germantown Basketball Club and our community of friends for supporting our Pop Tab Program and families! Thanks to your collective efforts, more than 6,300 pounds of pop tabs were collected this year. Our generous recycling partner, Complete Recycling Services, matched the donation dollar for dollar, totaling more than $9,000 to support our mission!

Thank you for pulling together for RMHC®!
