At the RMHC Eastern Wisconsin, there is one room of the House always filled with hopeful and joyful smiles. Tucked away in a corner of the lower level is the Magic Room, where a little yellow token goes a long way. Upon their arrival at RMHC Eastern Wisconsin, each child in a guest family is given a token which grants them access to the Magic Room. Under the cheerful rainbow canopy, children are able to select a toy from our floor-to-ceiling shelves of toys, books, and games. Picking out a toy is a fun experience during a difficult time for our guest families and seeing the joy it brings a child is priceless. These gifts help provide children with a sense of comfort and distraction during their medical journey.
The bright, shining smiles seen in the Magic Room are something to treasure during a difficult time. In order to continue spreading the magic, we rely on our donors. Last year we had 2,360 family stays and each family was granted access to the Magic Room. We are able to share the hope and joy of the Magic Room experience with our guest families because of generous friends of the House who donate all of the books, toys, and games.
RMHC Eastern Wisconsin is always accepting new toys and books for boys and girls across all age groups to keep the happiest room in our House fully stocked. To accommodate older children’s interests, we also offer gift cards in increments of $10 to Amazon, Target, Movie Passes, iTunes, Jimmy John’s, Starbucks, and Chipotle. Please consider sharing joy with our families by donating a gift for the Magic Room.
